Love Some BODY!

June 02, 2018

(This post originally posted by me as a Mindful Step for our community at Life Advance International LLC with great response and I wanted to share it with you here)

You may have read that as "Give somebody some love" and yes, do that too. But, I'm talking about something a little different so keep reading.

If you're like me, sometimes our bodies just don't seem to be working the way they used to. I've had my moments in the past where I hated what my body was doing (or not doing) and I was so frustrated that I couldn't get it to listen to me. I was pretty demanding at times. Ever feel that way?

Ever feel like no matter what you do, your body has a mind of it's own? Ever feel not only sad and disappointed by the vehicle your soul is moving around in, but even pissed off at times?

If you are in that angry, frustrated state this Mindful Step will work wonders for you this week.

Even if you are getting along great with your body right now, you'll notice the positive impact of taking this step.

Your Mindful Step for this week:

Give your body some love!

Ever notice how hard you can be on your body? I remember when I was pregnant with my first baby and I was thinking "What the hell is going on here?" and I was upset that I couldn't do some of the things I was used to doing. I was pretty hard on my body, until it registered that I was making a baby inside of me!:-)

So... maybe you had a few words already with your body this morning. I bet they were not the most kind words. How critical and judgmental are you usually when you think about, look at or talk about your body? Pay attention this week and give your body some love every time you start to say something mean.

It will not only make you feel better and your body feel better, but it will also improve everything around you. Stop fighting with your body. It's a gift. Without it, you pretty much would be a puddle on the ground. And, how much fun would that be?

At a loss for how to love your body? Think about how compassionate, loving and patient you would be with a small child... or even your pet. For more inspiration, try the following:

· Say out loud what you are grateful for in regard to your body

· Thank your body for all it does to get you through your day

· Gift your body with a massage

· Gift your body with a bath or warm shower

· Ask your body what it needs (ok, sounds a little woo woo, but why not try it and see if you get a response)

· Drink water so your body feels hydrated and relaxed

· Sleep, rest or do yoga or anything else that allows your body to relax

This is only a short list. There are so many other ways to love your body and I would love to hear them. Share in the comments below!

Have a wonderful week!
